Main Street in Shallotte was lined with hundreds of spectators cheering for Santa and their favorite parade participants. This year marked the 60th Shallotte Holiday parade!
This year’s parade featured floats, four wheelers, horses, fire trucks, antique cars, motorcycles, cheerleaders, a marching band and much more. Festival organizers said there were nearly 100 entrants in the parade.
Children watched the entertainment and collected the bounty of candy thrown from passing participants, but all were waiting eagerly for the parade’s special guest—Santa Claus. He arrived aboard a Shallotte fire truck near the end of the parade.
