Get ready for the Tenth Annual Strawberry and Wine Fest hosted by the Old Bridge Historical Society. This festival has become a favorite tradition for many in North and South Carolina and beyond.
Celebrate spring in style with great music, strawberry shortcake, food, and drink. The venue is the beautiful Sunset Beach Town Park, 206 Sunset Blvd N, Sunset Beach.
Join us Sunday, April 28 from 12 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sunset Beach Town Park. For this nonprofit fundraiser, the suggested donation is $5 per person.
Each person’s $5 donation helps the work of the Old Bridge Historical Society.
Headlining the entertainment will be Mike’s Garage Band, the Southport band with a heart. And of course, the star of the festival will be the large, luscious, ruby red strawberries served in shortcake with whipped cream.
Start your afternoon with this fan favorite! Get them early as the demand is high. For the first time, we will also have some of those delicious strawberries for sale by the quart from our friends at Heritage Fresh Market.
When you arrive, stake out your spot under the trees, set up your chair, buy a drink and some food and then sit back and wait for the music.
Mike’s Garage Band is a local favorite and is billed as the band that just wants to have fun. The members call themselves a “band for the ages” and play music that focuses mostly on the tunes the band members grew up with – classic soul and rock. Mike’s Garage Band plays all the favorites, dancing music from start to finish.
Attendees will certainly want to have comfortable shoes, an appreciation for music and love the outdoor festival atmosphere. You can dance the afternoon away or sit and sip while you listen to the music and watch the boat traffic go by on the Intracoastal.
There will be wines available from Silver Coast Winery. Makai Brewing Company, Ocean Isle Beach and Waterline Brewing Company, Wilmington will have specialty craft beers for sale.
If you are a shopper, you can visit the Vendor Village where local vendors, service providers and sponsors will have their wares displayed and information available.
There will be several strawberry related items for sale, including fresh strawberries by the quart from Heritage Fresh Market. Your $5 donation includes a chance to participate in the vendor drawing.
With multiple winners, you might just walk away with a fabulous prize! In between dancing and shopping, festival-goers may build up both an appetite and a thirst.
You don’t need to leave the grounds because, in addition to strawberry shortcake, there will be other delicious food available including hot dogs and pulled pork. Wine and beer, as well as water and soda will be available for sale. Picnic under the trees, toe-tapping to the music.
