Dome Theater Shows:
Every Monday – Saturday, explore remote areas, journey to the farthest reaches of space, or discover the stars you’ll see in your own backyard in our immersive theater – doors open at 10:30 am:
11:00 am – Magic Globe – On vacation at her Grandpa’s, a little girl named Mia accidentally discovers a mysterious piece of astronomical machinery. Edek, Mia’s eccentric uncle, tricks the girl into using the tool’s secret powers to change the world’s seasons. She quickly realizes the consequences of what they are going to do….
12:00 pm – Astronaut – What does it take to become an astronaut? Experience a rocket launch from inside the body of an astronaut. Explore the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, from floating around the International Space Station to maneuvering through microscopic regions of the human body.
1:00 pm – Voyage to Different Worlds – Experience a tour of the objects in our solar system from the sun to the Kuiper belt. This full dome show includes the latest information from observatories and robotic space probes, and it’s a science-rich show recommended for general audiences.
2:00 pm – Totality! (NEW!) – Total solar eclipses are rare and beautiful phenomena, and a total eclipse will cross the U.S. on April 8! Everyone in the continental U.S. will experience at least a partial solar eclipse. To celebrate, Totality! explores the origins of eclipses, the history of eclipse watchers, and how to observe them safely. The next solar eclipse will cross the U.S. in 2045, so don’t miss this one! As an official 2024 North Carolina Science Festival event, Totality! is among hundreds of community-based events that are showcasing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities for the citizens of North Carolina.
3:00 pm – The Sky Tonight! – Tour the planets, constellations, and other celestial events happening in the night sky above our community. Then, next time you walk along the beach on a clear night, you’ll be able to identify the celestial sights you see.
Laser Music Shows:
Every Thursday – Saturday evening, enjoy a unique and memorable sensory experience with laser effects accompanied by popular music heard through the area’s best sound system – doors open at 5:30 pm:
Thursdays:
▪ 6:00 pm – Laser Vinyl (70s & 80s) – Enjoy a fantastic musical
concert featuring the best of classic rock with some of the most beautiful and stunning laser art ever produced. Reminisce, tap your feet and enjoy an audio-visual event that will rock your body, mind, and soul!
▪ 7:00 pm – Laser Retro (80s) – Let lasers take you back to the days of leg warmers, big hair and excellent music! Fun for the whole family, you’ll rock on to music from great ’80s bands like New Order, The Cure and more.
Fridays:
▪ 6:00 pm – Tom Petty – Here’s a laser show that “Won’t back down!”
Tom Petty celebrates the life and work of one of rock’s most prolific legends and explores his careers as both a Heartbreaker and a solo artist.
▪ 7:00 pm – Genesis – Enjoy one of the best prog-rock bands from the 80s combined with spectacular laser lights that illustrate artistry in both music and imagery.
Saturdays:
▪ 6:00 pm – David Bowie – Celebrate the musical legacy of this enigmatic musical chameleon and enjoy the glam and spectacle of lasers dancing along with the music of one of the most influential artists in music.
▪ 7:00 pm – Queen – Savor a stunning laser light display featuring songs from one of the most legendary rock artists of all time, Queen! The setlist includes We Will Rock You, Another One Bites the Dust, Somebody to Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions, and more!
