The Brunswick County Parks and Recreation staff has been diligently working on a conceptual Master Buildout Plan for the Ocean Isle Beach Park. The Town of Ocean Isle Beach donated approximately 57 acres of property to the County in March 2005 in order to bring a state of the art park to the Southeastern portion of Brunswick County.
There has been considerable public input provided during this conceptual plan phase, with almost 900 survey responses received and many citizens attending numerous public workshop.
Based on this input the proposed plan will include a baseball/softball complex with five (5) fields (Four 300’ and one 200’ Field), paved walking trails, 3 multi-purpose fields, pickle ball courts, fitness equipment, inclusive playgrounds, additional picnic shelters and restrooms, horseshoe pits, dog park, basketball courts, additional parking to support the new facilities as well as open space/passive areas. The plan also to incorporate the existing facilities which include tennis courts, multipurpose field, playground, restrooms, and an amphitheater.
