The Museum of Coastal Carolina in Ocean Isle Beach is hosting a Festival of Trees. Trees decorated by local organizations will be displayed throughout the museum’s galleries from November 29 to December 14, 2019. The Festival of Trees provides a wonderful opportunity to support the Museum of Coastal Carolina; it also provides an opportunity for local organizations to benefit from community exposure.
For the Festival of Trees, artificial trees provided by the museum will be sponsored and decorated by local nonprofit organizations. The nonprofit organizations are: Brunswick County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association, Ocean Isle Habitat Restore, Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization, Ocean Ridge Charities Organization, Paws-Ability, Brunswick County Literacy Council, Ocean Isle Property Owners Association, With My Sisters, Brunswick Environmental Action Team, South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club, and the Intracoastal Model Railroad Club. Decorated trees will be placed in a silent auction. Each tree sponsor will receive the highest amount bid on their tree by visiting patrons. Silent auction winners get a decorated tree to take home which includes decorations, tree skirt, tree topper, and LED lights.
Museum members and visitors to the museum during the Festival of Trees will receive a voting ballot to use to vote for their favorite tree. Additional voting ballots may be purchased in the museum’s gift shop for $1, 6 for $5 or 15 for $10.
The Festival of Trees will be open to the public and included with regular museum admission during the museum’s seasonal operating hours – Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 3:00 with extended hours from 10:00 to 5:00 on November 30, December 7, and December 14.
