Saturday, Feb 19, at 11:00 am, the Museum of Coastal Carolina presents The Great Backyard Bird Count, a yearly citizen science project where people can watch, learn about, count, and celebrate birds. Whether you are an expert birder or just starting out, the Great Backyard Bird Count is open to anyone.
Come learn what the Great Backyard Bird Count is, how you can participate, and some helpful apps and guides you can use. Backyard Bird Count is part of the Museum’s Backyard Wonders program.
The Backyard Wonders program is designed to help you discover the wonders present in your backyard through citizen science projects that you can do at home.
Our Education Coordinator, Jamie Justice will present this fun, interactive program. Jamie received her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Bowling Green State University and her Master of Science in Environmental Science with concentrations in Marine and Coastal Education and Coastal Management from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Admission is free for members.
