Doesn’t a gathering to sample soups from local cooks sound like a great way to spend a coastal winter evening? We think so, and that’s why the Ocean Isle Museum Foundation will host its Fourth Annual Souper Saturday on Jan. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Museum of Coastal Carolina.
Held after regular Museum hours, this event will feature locally-sourced soup samples from multiple home cooks and opportunities for guests to vote for their favorite custom culinary creations.
The winning cook will be declared “Potager Extraordinaire,” and will receive gift certificates to local restaurants and the coveted Souper Saturday Quacker Award. Each year a winner is presented with the Rubber Duck Chef and keeps possession of it until it is passed on to a new winner.
Local cooks who would like to participate can call (910) 579-1031 for details or email [email protected] .
Soup samples and light desserts will be included with $10 suggested donation for admission per person. Drinks, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase separately. Visit the Museum’s website to purchase advance tickets: https://museumplanetarium.org/ event/souper-saturday
