All of our little sea turtle friends are doing just fine according to Deb and Jim Boyce,
Island Coordinators for the Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization.
Deb reports that they checked all of the nests yesterday morning and all nests are intact!
“It’s possible that Nest #16 (McKenney’s Beach House) may have hatched during the storm because it was showing signs of activity prior to Irene. Nest #13 (Turtle Babes) had some hatchlings out overnight last night – our rider spotted baby tracks this morning. So all is well.”
The Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization provides, through appropriate management activities and education, a safe and protected environment for all sea turtles that frequent the island of Ocean Isle Beach.
They accomplish this by working with the Town of Ocean Isle Beach, its residents, businesses and visitors.![]()
