Enjoy an entertaining and educational presentation at the Museum of Coastal Carolina. The Sandbar Lecture Series brings local experts to speak about topics ranging from our coastal environment to Outer Banks history. Sandbar lectures are free with Museum admission.
Tuesday, July 25 at 6:00 pm, Marine Mammal Biologist Dr. Michael Tift will describe what it’s like to work with marine mammals in the wild.
Tift will explain interesting behaviors characteristic of wild marine mammals, including holding their breath for over two hours, diving more than two miles deep in the ocean, and stranding themselves.
Tift will also discuss his career in marine mammal biology and work done with the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Marine Mammal Stranding Program.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
Admission is free for members. Non-member all-day admission effective March 31, 2022 is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors (62+), $8 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
