Shark Soiree – A Week Swarming with Shark Activities at Museum of Coastal Carolina
Join the Museum of Coastal Carolina for a week swarming with shark activities that will inspire curiosity and raise awareness of one of the coast’s most feared ocean creatures Aug. 4 through Aug. 8.
Should humans fear or revere sharks? Determine whether these ocean predators are simply misunderstood. The Museum and its Shark Soiree partners will try to answer those questions.
Visit our craft and education stations throughout the Museum galleries to make your own shark fin hat, sort shark fact from fiction, play the shark tooth matching game and design your own shark. You can also join the Sharky Scavenger Hunt and more.

Sandbar Lecture – Shark Tooth Hunting in Ocean Isle and Beyond with Ashley Oliphant @ 5:30pm

Encounter NC Tabling 10am-1pm – Learn how researchers work up a shark and shark teeth

Special Edition of Shark Smarts by OCEARCH @11am
Sharks of NC @ 1:30pm – presentation by OCEARCH

Meet a Paleontologist and explore fossil and shark teeth identification by Aurora Fossil Museum from 10am-3pm.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.
Admission is free for members. Non-member all-day admission effective March 31, 2022 is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors (62+), $8 for children (3-12), and free for age 2 and under.
