During Hurricane Isaias where the storm made landfall at Ocean Isle Beach, the category 1 Hurricane created significant damage including to the Ocean Isle Beach Fishing Pier. The 968-foot wooden pier has stood as a landmark of the island since it was built in 1957 by Odell and Virginia Williamson.
Many have walked the wooden planks of the Ocean Isle Pier over the decades enjoying its beautiful views and great fishing.
While no official plans have been made, the pier will be rebuilt in the upcoming months.
