Saturday, April 3rd marks The Wind’s Third Annual Easter Egg Hunt!
The Easter Bunny has been busy hiding his Easter Eggs all over the oceanfront gardens at The Winds Resort Beach Club and he’ll be there to officiate the hunt! At 1:00 p.m. kids ages 2 – 12 can come and join the hunt. Bring your Easter baskets for fun, games and prizes.
This is great fun for the kids and parents and grandparents will love watching the excitement as the kids discover and add eggs to their baskets, play games and win prizes!

April 7-11, 2010
The 63rd Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival in nearby Wilmington, NC (just 40 minutes from The
Winds). The Festival is a celebration of Wilmington’s exceptional artwork, gardens, rich history and culture during its five days of entertainment that includes: a parade, street fair, circus, concerts, pageantry, and all that is Southern.
This year’s concert headliners are the Goo Goo Dolls with Collective Soul on Thursday, April 8th, at Trask Coliseum, UNCW 8:00 PM
On Friday April 9th, country megastars Montgomery Gentry will also headline at Trask Coliseum, UNCW at 8:00 PM

Days at the Docks – April 24 & 25, 2010
Started in the 1980’s, the Springtime festival called “Day at the Docks” was recently expanded to 2 days becoming “Days” at the Docks.
Over 50 arts and crafts vendors and a dozen food vendors set up for two days of fun.The weekend starts off with a 5K and 10K run at 8:00 am Saturday morning.

October 16-17, 2010 – The 30th North Carolina Oyster Festival

2010 will mark the 30th anniversary of the festival, which will be hosted by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce.
Awarded North Carolina Event of the Year 2007 by the North Carolina Association of Festivals and Events, the 29th Annual North Carolina Oyster Festival will feature: Live entertainment, a road race, a surf contest, kids area, over 120 arts & crafts vendors and 13 food vendors, North Carolina Oyster Shucking Championships and an Oyster Stew Cook-off.
If you’re not a fan of the oyster don’t let that stop you. There are all kinds of food vendors with everything from Greek gyros to cheesesteaks to homemade ice cream (not to mention funnel cakes, cotton candy and burgers and hot dogs).
The Winds tends to book up way ahead for this nationally recognized festival so make plans and reservations as soon as possible!

Oct 30th & 31st, 2010 – NC Festival by the Sea

This 2 day events is kicked off with a parade down the Holden Beach causeway. This is the only day of the year that you can walk across the Holden Beach bridge and each year several hundred take that high altitude stroll to stake out the perfect spot to view the parade. Arts and Crafts vendors are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sat. and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sun. You’ll want to plan to be onsite for at least a couple of meals and a snack or two, just to sample a tiny portion of the food on hand. For the competitive sort, there is a horsehoe tournament and a sandcastle building contest. Children enjoy face painting, huge kites flying overhead and the children’s rides and amusements.
